Jack in the Box Preschool endeavours to ensure the safety of our children at the setting.
When we take the children out to play in the sun we make sure that they have as much shade from the sun as possible. We will endeavour to set up activities in the shade and will monitor how hot and how much time the children are exposed to the sun. We are lucky to have trees that provide us with shade at different times of the day. We will also make sure the children have more water to drink and stop for regular drink breaks. We will monitor the type of play the children are doing, are they in appropriate clothing and in extreme heat we may suggest playing inside is the coolest, safest option.
We will also encourage our parents to bring in a named sun hat for their children to wear outside.
We also encourage them to put on the long lasting sun cream before they come to school. We will put sun cream onto the children if we have parent’s prior permission to do so, and only if the children are in session all day.
