Our day
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and plan exciting and challenging experiences covering all the seven areas of learning: Personal, social and emotional development, Physical development, Communication and language, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design. During our day the children will have access and the choice of the inside and outside environment where all areas of learning our covered, We try and free flow in all weathers and wet weather gear is provided.
During the morning the children will be offered a healthy snack with a choice of milk or water and a selection of fresh fruit or vegetables. We will have various smaller, more focused group times where the adults will have planned activities around the children’s interests to encourage their listening and attention, their communication skills, their turn taking, fine motor skills all in readiness for school. This will be an activity varying from a science experiment, reading stories, a musical activity, and toddler yoga to name but a few. The afternoon session follows a similar routine as the morning session with the addition of lunchtime, where all staff and children sit together to have lunch which is a social time but a good opportunity to discuss the benefits of healthy eating.
Our aim for your child is to be the best they can be and during a typical day at play they will socialise, explore, be challenged, express their ideas, listen, communicate, learn new skills and become independent and ready for school.
